Nicholas Pippenger

<b><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Pippenger">Nicholas Pippenger</a></b> (b. 1947) is a computer scientist and author of <i>Theories of Computability</i> (1997). He is a <a href="http://www.math.hmc.edu/~njp/">professor of mathematics</a> at Harvey Mudd College. Pippenger acquired his first bachelor's degree at <a href="http://shimer.edu">Shimer College</a>, where he enrolled through <a href="http://www.shimer.edu/academicprograms/undergraduate/earlyentrantprogram.cfm">early entrance</a>, and his doctorate at MIT. Pippenger is known for his work on the foundations of computer science, including issues of complexity, computability and communication theory.
