African traditional religion

Religion is a focal point of African life, inextricably bound up in the spiritual traditions that still exert tremendous influence over the people of tropical and southern Africa. This book provides a comparative study of the main religions south of the Sahara, demonstrates their common ground and builds up a coherent picture of African beliefs and practices. He divides his book into sections on the African view of God and the nature gods; the place of religious beliefs in social life; and spiritual forces.
