Following the annihilation of the Justice League Watchtower, the DC heroes regroup to hunt down the elusive alien Brainiac, while Lex Luthor emerges as an unlikely hero to the citizens of Metropolis after aiding the safe return of the Daily Planet hostages. Playing both sides against the middle, Lex introduces "The Luthor Legion," a new class of heroes made of Daily Planet staff who acquired powers while held captive by Brainiac. But between Lois Lane's shocking secret, the reveal of his true identity, and the tragic loss of someone close to him, Superman is losing control.
