Dorn

This book describes the amazing transformation of the South during the two decades following World War II. William Jennings Bryan Dorn lived through this transformation. Few members of Congress were as close to it or knew as much about it as he. He knew the history of the state that led the country into the War Between the States. In a sense, he was a product of the long and agonizing aftermath of that fratricidal struggle. He was a politician and, as such, sensitive to racial problems of his state and region.
