Geology and America's national park areas

Geology and America's National Park Areas provides students with an introductory look at geology and the geologic setting of many national park areas, including all of the 54 national parks, many national monuments, and other areas controlled by the park system. Each park area discussed includes some general background information, pictures, and a broad geological overview. Maps in the book show all the parks and monuments, as well as their geographic context. The book also contains a comprehensive glossary and index. The last chapter takes a look at many of the sites preserving ancient cultural remains in the southwest, and some of the many forts and battlefields of different ages in the east and southeast.
