Golf is a golf, golf history book by W. T. Linskill.

About this book

This is an old golf book. These are the good aspects: 1) It is historical. It gives the names that clubs were given in the days before mass production of golf clubs. And, it shows the rules of golf in the old days and other anachronsisms. 2) It is brief. Many golf books are too long and complicated. This one is brief. 3) Despite being brief, it takes the time to mention the important of maintaining balance and also having a good swing arc (it calls the path a 3/4 circle and says that swings that are too flat or upright will be inconsistent). These are the bad aspects: 1) It is too brief on things like the proper stance and grip. 2) The advice on minor things like how to tee the ball is way outdated.
