Erik gets innocently framed and arrested for killing a woman. The Viking jury sentence him lawless, and he must leave the country for five years. But Kåre, who framed him, is not happy. He wanted Erik killed, so now he must chase Erik to finish him off, himself. He also needs to get his hands on Erik's beautiful knife, that cut Kåre's nose in half. So begins a long chase, and soon it is not only Kåre who wants to see Erik dead. Erik must fight his way to stay alive, and all the time he's getting further away from home. Will he ever get back to see his mother and beautiful Gyrid again? And why does it feel like the knife is steering his way?
