Violet

Violet is a very special hippopotamus who turns up out of the blue one day and bounces into the otherwise mundane lives of Albert and Mavis Hippo. Before long, Violet causes quite a stir, not only for her remarkably small size, but because she has another un-hippo-like quality: when threatened she turns PINK! Violet faces the dangers of the jungle and is acknowledged for her bravery by no less an eminence than Lion, King of the Beasts. Then she is captured by a film producer and whisked away to Hollywood. A reluctant new star is born who just wants to get back to her friends in the jungle. Fortunately, Violet finds she has a redoubtable champion, Reggie the Rhinoceros, who braves the skies and the oceans to rescue her from the very jaws of stardom.
