Sobre este libro
Published in 1925, this novel captures the restless energy and moral ambiguity of America’s Jazz Age through the eyes of Nick Carraway, a young bond salesman who relocates to Long Island. Across the bay resides Jay Gatsby, a self-made millionaire whose extravagant soirées mask a singular, obsessive pursuit. Fitzgerald’s spare yet luminous prose traces the collision of old money and new wealth, examining how ambition, class privilege, and romantic idealism distort the promise of reinvention. The narrative unfolds as a quiet investigation into memory, illusion, and the persistent gap between aspiration and reality. Though initially met with modest attention, the work has since been recognized for its precise social observation and enduring stylistic influence. Its exploration of excess, longing, and the fragility of self-invention continues to resonate as a defining portrait of early twentieth-century American life.

Lo Que Dicen los Lectores
“So we beat on, boats against the current. That final line is perfection.”
“Beautifully written but I found it hard to care about any of the characters. Maybe that's the point.”
“A masterclass in showing vs telling. The symbolism is rich without being heavy-handed.”
Reseñas (10)
Beautifully written but I found it hard to care about any of the characters. Maybe that's the point.
Fitzgerald's prose is like poetry. The green light at the end of Daisy's dock is one of literature's most powerful symbols.
Gatsby's obsession with the past resonates deeply. Fitzgerald understood longing like few others.
Overhyped for me. The writing is gorgeous but the plot is thin and the characters are shallow by design.
Short but incredibly dense. Every sentence carries weight. Nick as an unreliable narrator adds layers.
Read it in one sitting. It's one of those rare books that improves on re-reading.
