This is a work in two volumes about the process of independence of Peru from the Spanish Crown. In the year 1809 an attempt of rebellion was produced in Lima, conceived by Doctor Mateo Silva and others. The author expresses himself thus referring to the purpose of his work: "The publication of this process will serve the scholars to delve into the analysis of the events of these times, preparatory to the Revolution of Independence and to highlight the personality of the patriots who sacrificed themselves for the destiny of Peru." VOLUME I The first 121 pages consist of an exhibition prepared by the author about the events that took place. This exhibition is articulated in 16 chapters. The first six are not titled. The following carry these titles: VII. Atonement VIII. Perjury IX. The fidelismo like argument of defense X. Physical and intellectual disability XI. Remigio Silva XII. Moving away from the shadow of the Liberator XIII. Antonio María Pardo XIV. The motivations of slander XV The effort of the defenders XVI. The commissioned judge and the opinion of the prosecutors. Then, until page 399, the supporting documents are published. These consist of the first five Cuadernos of the judicial writings made in Lima on the occasion of the attempted uprising in that capital by D. Mateo Silva and D. Antonio Maria Pardo and others. What is published is a transcript of documents from the Archivo General de Indias in Seville. Lima 740. VOLUME II Transcription of Cuadernos of the judicial writings 5, 6 and 7. FINAL DOCUMENT OF THE WORK (refers to the insurrection of Quito of August 10, 1809): GENERAL STATUS that manifests the subjects employed in the city of Quito and its Province in the political, economic, Royal Treasury and Military with the exact and true notes of the behavior observed by each of them and other individuals, although not They obtain jobs have been distinguished with notable actions in the insurrections that have occurred, being constant by public notoriety and by documents that exist.
