Raki

Novel based on author's experiences growing up in Serbia, then migrating to Australia in 1960. He adopted the Aboriginal name Wongar whilst living in the Northern Territory. Themes explored are the struggle to uphold traditions and nurture memory in the face of human devastation. He draws a comparison between genocide in Serbia and the forced separation of Aboriginal children from their families. His books have been published widely and include 'Aboriginal Myths', 'The Track to Bralgu' and 'The Last Pack of Dingoes'.
