Poppy Day

*Poppy Day* explores how we remember the people who have died in wars. Learn about the origins of Poppy Day look at the events that take place, and find out how people around the world choose to remember this special day. In New Zealand red poppies are sold in advance of Anzac Day (April 25th) in gratitude for those who died at Gallipoli. In other places, such as Britain, Poppy day is a special day in November, also called Remembrance Day (from Armistice Day), when those who died in wars since World War I are remembered. This day began nearly a 100 years ago at the end of this terrible war.
